Rescue Experience

Have you ever wanted to volunteer for a rescue or shelter but just can't commit the time required?   How about joining our executive director on a one day rescue experience. From start to finish you can be a part of the process that normally only our most dedicated volunteers get to participate in. Your experience fee is tax deductible as a donation to Colorado Puppy Rescue.

About your host

Kim has been instrumental in the dog rescue movement since 1993. She has helped found two highly successful no kill rescue organizations that have been the inspiration for many others. For ten years she has hosted rescue trips across Colorado and New Mexico with experienced volunteers. Her knowledge of rescuing and adoption along with her love of history and nature provides an insider experience that will be the envy of your friends.

Trip Details

Each rescue experience is unique. You will have a hands on day filled with the sights and sounds (and smells) of puppies. Our day will include a visit to our veterinarian in Raton, New Mexico where each puppy will be examined. You will participate in the process of identification, evaluation & transport safety. Puppy kisses and cuddles are part of the rescue process.

Testimonials

"Though Kim has taken this trip several times before, she enjoys, I think, enabling people to see things they normally don't so much that it doesn't seem to bore her."
