Where does CPR get these puppies?
From rural shelters & rescuers who do not have enough population to adopt their puppies.  Most of these puppies would have been destroyed where they came from.  The shelters contact us when a rescue is needed.

What happens if a puppy is not adopted?
They are cared for by CPR fosters until adopted.

Where are the puppies kept during the week?
Puppies are fostered in a home.

Have these puppies had shots?
Yes.  All puppies have current vaccinations, deworming and kennel cough vaccine.

Are these puppies healthy?
Colorado Puppy Rescue would never knowingly adopt an ill puppy.  An illness clause is included in our adoption contract.

Have these puppies been checked by a vet?
Not all puppies.  Many puppies come from shelters with vets on staff that examine & vaccinate them before transfer.  All puppies come with a free vet check during the first 8 days following adoption.

Health Care Insurance
Puppies adopted from CPR are eligible for 30 days of free health insurance from ShelterCare.

Spay/Neuter
You are required to have puppy spay/neutered before it is 7 months old.  CPR gives you a $20 rebate with proof of spay/neuter.

What if I adopt a puppy that doesn’t work out?
You can return the puppy during the 1st week for a full refund.  Of course, puppies adopted at CPR can always be returned to us.  Return policies will be reviewed with you at time of adoption.

Why can’t I touch the puppies in the viewing pens?
By not touching the puppies in the viewing area, we are providing an illness barrier for the puppies.
We have play pens available for individual introductions.

Why can’t I take photos of the puppies?
It is our policy.  As a fund raiser, for a $5 donation we will take a photo of you with the puppy that you adopt.

Other rules
Children must be supervised at all times.
     Stay within designated areas.
     No smoking.
One puppy at a time per group in the play pens.
15 minute time limit per puppy in the play pens.
     No holds on adoptable puppies.
Keep your pets in your car until a volunteer helps
         you with a play area.

What is the adoption process?
The adoption process takes about 45 minutes.  All adopters are required (no exceptions) to go through this informational process.
